Shepton Beauchamp Flood Protection Notice
INTRODUCTION. Following the Parish Council Meeting held on Monday 21st February, the Parish Council would like to highlight the following Flood Recovery/Protection opportunities now available to all residents concerned with internal or external flooding issues.
SOMERSET FLOOD RECOVERY DROP-IN EVENTS. Residents are encouraged to attend any of the ‘free’ Flood Recovery Drop-in sessions. All events will be running from 4-7pm and there’s no need to book ahead. For further information please see the Somerset Flood Recovery-Drop-in Events Flier
- Chard: Wednesday 26 February, The Guildhall, TA20 1PP
- Ilminster: Wednesday 5 March, The Shrubbery, TA19 9AR
- South Petherton: Tuesday 11 March, The David Hall, TA13 5AA
PURCHASING FLOOD PROTECTION ITEMS. In the interest of obtaining a reduced price for bulk ordering of Flood Protection items, Seavington Parish Council has offered to share with us their Booking Form for those residents who may wish to purchase Flood Protection items;
- Filled sandbags
- Gel sandbags
- Air Brick Covers.
Flood Protection Order Forms can be dropped-off at the SB Village Shop or at St Michaels dropped or sent by e-mail to [email protected] . The closing date for orders is 15 March 2025.
FLOOD REPORTING TOOL. Reporting flooding incidents helps the authority to build a picture of the worse-hit areas and understand where support is needed. Resident’s affected by flooding are strongly encouraged to report all recent online using the flood reporting tool. The following floods can be reported:
- Current Flood
- Recent Flood within past 5 years
- Update any previous reports submitted.
Please note that under GDPR this information cannot be shared externally. Any reports submitted will not affect your house insurance but will allow Somerset Council to apply for Government Flood Relief for those residents affected by flooding who submitted a report. (Note: Flood Relief will only be granted if sufficient numbers of incidents are reported).
